Not so bowled over!!!
I am glad that I am writing this now, instead of Sunday night when I was absolutely fuming!!! Since a gang of us had not seen each other in a while, we decided that a good old fashioned knees up was in order. We came upon the idea of going for a “friendly” game of bowling.
We have not had the best of luck with this particular bowling alley but we figured that we should, just for this once, give it the benefit of the doubt. We paid, sorted out our shoes and proceeded to set the scoring system up. Right from the outset, we should have realised that this was not going to be our night.
The first round of pins failed to stay standing but determined not to let this stop us, we reset them and began again. I must add that we were all pretty much on fire Sunday night when it came to getting strikes and spares. Never has it been such a close run race!!! However, coming to the end of the first game, disaster struck. Our lane seemed to have a problem with allowing certain pins to remain standing. It downright refused to set them up properly and we had no other choice but to complain to the staff behind the counter. They were their usual helpful selves, I might add!!!
It turned out that we had to move to another lane in the end. However, problems were to persist with this new lane also. Again, we sought the help of a “competent” staff. We shouldn’t have bothered. For a change, they did offer to allow us a few extra minutes on the lane but with it continuing to play up and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ awaiting, we decided to quit while we were behind and high tail it out of there!!!
I am pleased to say that each of us enjoyed the cinema but were a little confused when it came to the end of the film. I must admit that I have never seen such an obvious ploy to introduce the audience to the next instalment of the trilogy…one of my friends said it was up there with the ending to the Matrix2!!! At least Pirates has the comical Jack Sparrow in it’s favour.

And so, the countdown to our move begins. It is just two weeks until the family pick up sticks and move to our new residence. The move is eagerly anticipated but the workload pertaining to said move has this author a little worried!
Considering the fact that I could be described as the world’s worst when it comes to chucking stuff, I feel that over twenty years of clutter will be falling down around my ears shortly. Just a quick look around my room at the moment has my brain going into meltdown.
On the other hand, I will be moving to, what can only be described as, a mansion where I have chosen the “Emily Dickinson” suite - I shall be the mad woman in the attic!!! I really can’t wait. For now, I should be reminded, however, that everything has it’s place. Therefore, the number of books that currently occupy my sitting room floor should be kept to a minimum!!!

Progress!!!
Bhuel, tá mé ag déanamh dul chun cinn leis an mblag. Is aoibhinn liom an suíomh seo, tá sé an-úsáideach. Dar liomsa, tá mo bhlag ag féachaint go maith. Bhí mé ag obair go dian díograiseach air le linn an tSamhraidh. Ach rinne mé dearmad ar na teachtaireachtaí. Mar sin, caithfidh mé níos mó oibre a dhéanamh ar an ngné sin as seo amach.
Chaith mé an Satharn ag féachaint ar na cluichí peile agus ar na sobalchláir! Bhí mé ag féachaint ar Emmerdale agus bhí na radhairc go hiontach. Ba bheag nár bhris mo chroí nuair a fuair Alice bocht bás!
